About this item
*Special Release* Before American Airlines took delivery of its own 747s, it flew a handful of Pan Am-owned jumbos. N740PA was one of them: built for Pan American World Airways, leased to American in 1970, and flown in full American colors while keeping its Pan Am registration. It went back to Pan Am in 1971 and finished its career in Pan Am's 747 fleet.
That short crossover makes N740PA one of the most unusual 747s of the early jumbo-jet era, a genuine Pan Am aircraft that also served American Airlines. Legacy Jets captures it in 1:400 scale in American's classic polished livery.
